PURE – Promoting the Use of Photovoltaic Systems in the Urban Environment Through Demo Relay Nodes
The main aim of the PURE project is to promote architectural integration of photovoltaic energy systems in urban environments. It also seeks to contribute to developing Directive 2002/91/EC “Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings”, insofar as it refers to photovoltaic integration.
The members of the consortium will work together on disseminating best practice and experiences in European countries where architectural integration of photovoltaic panels has progressed furthest (such as Germany), in order to try to break down barriers to the development of architectural integration of photovoltaic panels in their respective countries/regions.
The most important tool in achieving these objectives is a permanent exhibition, displaying photovoltaic integration arrangements that are already available on the market. This exhibition will be held simultaneously in the Basque Country, Portugal, Italy, Slovakia and Greece. It will also serve as a permanent point of contact on technical, economic and regulatory aspects and on aspects related to the organisation of events, such as lectures and seminars.
PURE primarily targets the agents responsible for a change of attitude on photovoltaic integration—including local government and public institutions, developers in general, architects and associations of architects and people working in the construction industry.
EVE will primarily contribute to gathering information on photovoltaic regulations in Europe, especially those related to architectural integration, contacting photovoltaic platforms established in the European area, working with Robotiker on the design and setting-up of the permanent exhibition in the Basque Country. It will be the leader of the work package on dissemination activities.
