Bioethanol, plant-based petrol. |
![]() |
Bioethanol is an alcohol (ethanol), used as a liquid fuel. It is manufactured from plants that are rich in sugar or starch, such as for example, sugar beet, sugar cane and cereals. Its chemical properties allow it to substitute or be blended with petrols of fossil origin. In the Basque Country it is planned to make bioethanol from cereals, producing enough biofuel to meet the need of new bioethanol supply points. |
